A mouse named Jam thinks he is too clever to bother heeding the warnings of his elders. He goes looking for adventure--but is he too confident for his own good? I love the wordplay and rhyme. The poetry is wonderfully written and the artwork is striking. The moon is visually depicted in a variety of ways and its passing phases. It is just a great picture book for all ages; younger children will love it and older readers will appreciate its inventive and unique vocabulary.
Our library used this book for both a storytime read for little ones and a poetry workshop for the after-school group.
